How many times?

Have you ever wondered how many times you have to do something before you become really good at it? 2 times? 10 times? 100 times?  It seems that it would depend on what it is and how often you will have to do it.

Take cleaning your teeth as an example.  You get them done twice a year, with that really sharp little instrument, in places that you can’t even see in your mouth.

Take fixing your own plumbing as an example.  Righty tighty, lefty loosey is good in emergencies but what about putting in new pipes, fixing a break in a water line or replacing your own toilet or shower?

Take fixing your computer as an example.  When the blue screen of death appears, do you know what to type in the space, do you know where to look to find the lost files or do you know how to replace a hard drive and re-install the many programs that keep it running?

Take estate closing as an example.  Most people will only have to do it 1 -2 times, usually during a very emotional time, usually not knowing or understanding what they are doing and usually missing a lot of items.  One of the primary benefits of allowing us to help you handle the final affairs of an estate is ID theft.  Most people worry about it during life, but equal care should be taken when closing an estate.

These are only a few examples of the many things that you probably don’t do yourself, unless you do them professionally (I happen to know professionals in all these industries that help me).  The general rule is, if you don’t do it all the time, hire a professional to do it for you.
